Intel, Micron Announces 128GB NAND Flash Chip

Intel and Micron Technology, Inc announced a new NAND flash chip. The flash technology is worlds first 20nm, 128Gb device. The device has 333 megatransfer per second(MT/s) speed providing cost effect solid state storage for our slim and light weight smartphones, tablets and solid state drives. The success of 20nm process is due to an new innovative cell structure that enables more aggressive cell scaling than conventional architecture. The 20nm NAND uses a planer cell structure that overcomes inherent difficulties.  The 128Gb NAND flash devices will be mass produced by first-half of  2012.

Acer To Launch Iconia A200 Tab in India

Acer has announced the launch of Iconia Tab A200 and is expected to be launched this month in India. Iconia A200 has a 10.1 inch touchscreen and run on Android v3.2 Honeycomb OS which will later be upgraded to Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. A200 will have Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core 1Ghz processor with 1GB of DDR2 RAM. It will have a 2MP front facing camera, full size USB port, a microSD slot and Acer Socila Jogger features.

Samsung Wave 3 Announced

Samsung has announced Bada 2.0 OS based Wave 3. The phone will available first in France than to Germany, Italy. Samsung Wave 3 will be available by the end of next month in India. Samsung Wave 3 has 4 inch Super AMOLED screen, 1.4Ghz processor, a 5MP auto-focus camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording feature and a VGA front facing camera. The phone will have WiFi, HSPA + connectivity, Bluetooth, voice recognition features and Near Field Communication(NFC). The Wave will cost around Rs.19,600.

NASA Launches Mars Rover

NASA launched Mars Science Laboratory alias Curiosity from Florida on Atlas 5 rocket at 15.05 GMT. The rover weigh 900kg and will take eight and a half months to reach Mars. The total cost of the project stands at $2.5 billion. The payload on the rover includes MastCam, MAHLI, and MARDI cameras for taking different variety of pictures, ChemCam, APXS, CheMin, SAM, RAD, REMS,MEDLI, Hazcams and Navcams for navigation.

BlackBerry Launched Three Smartphone In India

Blackberry launched three phones in India which run on latest Blackberry 7 OS. The three smartphones are BlackBerry Bold 9790, BlackBerry Curve 9350 and Curve 9380. The BlackBerry Bold and Curve offers enhanced performance and browsing and also near-field communication(NFC) support. BlackBerry Bold 9790 has Qwerty keyboard with 2.45 inch touch screen display. The phone has 1Ghz processor, 5MP rear camera and 8GB of onboard memory which can expandable upto 32GB and is priced at Rs.27,490. BlackBerry Curve 9380 has a 3.2 inch display and comes with preinstalled social networking apps, including BBM, Facebook, Twitter and Social Feeds as well as a 5MP camera with flash and video recording. The new BlackBerry Curve 9380 is the first in the Curve range with a touch display and is priced around Rs.20,990. The BlackBerry Curve 9350 is a CDMA based phone. The Handset has 800Mhz processor, 5MP camera and has 512MB of inbuilt memory. The phone is priced at Rs.20,990.

Idea Launches Android Based Smartphone

Idea has launched 3G Android based smartphone for Rs.5,850 and Rs.7,992. The Smartphone would run on Android v2.2 Froyo OS and will have 3.2MP camera. The smartphones will have 3.5 and 2.8 inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS. Smartphones will have social networking sites apps, Google and YouTube will be pre-loaded. Along with the phones Idea is offering data services worth Rs.3,500 with Rs.259 pack which offers 1GB of data download per month and Idea TV subscription both for three months, 3G Double Dhamaka benefits for 6 months and Rs.25 talktime for both prepaid and postpaid users.

Micromouse Robot Completes Maze in 3.921 Second

At the 2011 All Japan Micromouse Robot Competition in Tsukuba, Japan Ng Beng Kiat mcromouse robot named Min7.1 completed the maze course in just 3.921 seconds beating the previous 4 seconds record. The robots are first set to anonymously explore the maze, it had the top speed of 12 kilometer per hour.
