Porsche Design BlackBerry Phone Launched

Porsche Design and Research In Motion (RIM) announced the elite new Porsche Design P’9981 smartphone from BlackBerry. Designed by Porsche Design, in collaboration with RIM, the luxury brand’s first smartphone delivers engineered luxury and performance.

This customized Porsche Design P’9981 comes with an exclusive Porsche Design UI and a bespoke Wikitude World Browser augmented reality app experience. It will have a forged stainless steel frame, hand-wrapped leather back cover, sculpted QWERTY keyboard, and crystal clear touch display.

Coming back to specs the smartphone has an MSM 8655 1.2 GHz processor, a new BlackBerry 7 OS, 5MP camera with HD video recording and 4x digital zoom, 24-bit high resolution graphics, and advanced sensors enabling new augmented reality applications. It comes with 8GB of on-board memory, expandable up to 32GB with a micro SD card. The BlackBerry P’9981 will be available in Porsche Design Stores by the end of this year for about $2000.

Coming Soon An Improved Aakash 2 Tablet

Aakash 2 tablet will be launched in February 2012. HRD minister Kapil Sibal said “We expect to launch the new version of Aakash by January-February next year”. The new Aakash will have the same price as the old one, Rs 2,276. It will have an 800Mhz processor as compared to the present 366Mhz processor, 1GB of RAM more than than present 256MB one. Aakash 2 will also have an front facing camera for video chatting and an better 7 inch display.

Intel, Micron Announces 128GB NAND Flash Chip

Intel and Micron Technology, Inc announced a new NAND flash chip. The flash technology is worlds first 20nm, 128Gb device. The device has 333 megatransfer per second(MT/s) speed providing cost effect solid state storage for our slim and light weight smartphones, tablets and solid state drives. The success of 20nm process is due to an new innovative cell structure that enables more aggressive cell scaling than conventional architecture. The 20nm NAND uses a planer cell structure that overcomes inherent difficulties.  The 128Gb NAND flash devices will be mass produced by first-half of  2012.
